Would a marathon runner,
Run a race with no training?
Would a bridge builder start building
Without any preparation?
Why should a person learn?
Why should rigorous study be our path?
Because we do not know the marathons ahead,
And what bridges God will build through our lives.
Would a boxer
Get in the ring without having sparred?
Would a musician
Sing a song
and become a bard
Or would it take years of hard
rock?
Why should we build up one another?
Why should we grow and mature through suffering?
Because love must have a melody, a thoughtful song;
And love is worth the suffering of rejection
And the risk of loss for the gain of priceless authenticity.
Would a construction worker
Start on the job site and immediately operate a crane?
Would a professor be heard and respected
If not for the time they put into the mastery of a subject?
Why should we build towards skillfulness
In a world of entropy?
Why should we seek wisdom
And to know God even when at times we feel futile?
Eternity has been placed in our hearts;
And purpose is written on the yearnings of our minds.
For the glory of the Kingdom
And the One who died and Rose Again
Who paid on the cross for every earthly sin
This is the reason we sing to Him.
This is why we are filled with thanksgiving;
The paradox of living,
Living in the Love of a Perfect Triune God
And the mystery of grace greater than the darkness.
How could we do anything less
Than to offer our best;
To the Heavenly One, Father, who has given everything for us
And to us?
Atonement, Redemption, Assurance.
Yet His beautiful love is not based on what we can achieve;
Does He, the Creator of the Universe,
Need anything from us…..the creatures?
Seek Shalom
And to have a Home;
A Home filled with the Shalom
Of El Elyon.
El Elyon, beyond all other names,
The Only Name,
The Name that has power to save.
Saved not only from past sin,
But rescued from the gruesome truth within,
Present pressures, saved from the power of present sin,
And looking ahead to the day,
When all traces of sin will be torn away,
And glorified with the resurrected Son,
Restored, all made right, Rest.
Heavenly Home, Secure & Blessed.
